Researchers at VCU are seeking adult survivors of traumatic brain injury and one or more of their adult family members to take part in a research program. This research project is studying the effectiveness of the Brain Injury Family Intervention. Click here to view or print a .PDF copy of the current program brochure.
During the course of 5 family sessions, participants will be provided with information about recovery after traumatic brain injury, post-injury loss and change, ways to manage stress and intense emotions, problem solving strategies, goal setting, local resources, and ways to extend the natural recovery process. The family support sessions will be conducted at the VCU Medical College of Virginia Campus.
There will be no charge for the sessions, and volunteers will be reimbursed for their time and effort. Travel funds are also available for participants traveling more than 60 miles one way to reach VCU-MCV Campus.
