Kreutzer, Godwin, & Lukow Leading September 2013 Conference for Military Couples
Drs. Jeffrey Kreutzer, Emilie Godwin, and Herman Lukow will be leading a conference September 13-14, 2013 to work with veterans with TBI. The conference has been organized by Sempermax, a support organization for wounded veterans. Participating couples have been invited through Sempermax to attend.
Funded in part by the Bob Woodruff Foundation, the two day conference will feature talks and activities for military couples after TBI on improving relationships and address the interaction of TBI & PTSD. On-site activities will include modified therapeutic techniques from the Resilience & Adjustment Intervention (RAI) and the Therapeutic Couples Intervention (TCI), two on-going local TBI Model Systems research projects which are funded by NIDRR. For more information on the RAI and TCI, see the front page headline “Current Psychotherapy Research Programs.”
We’re excited for the opportunity to apply our knowledge and skills of working with couples after TBI to our veteran population. Special thanks to the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA for hosting this important work.
